A first-of-its-kind PCI CPoC certified solution in Fiji, the launch will provide micro and small businesses easy access to contactless payments acceptance as customers increasingly choose digital payments.
17th November 2022, New Zealand: Solta, an established payments service provider with clients in the Pacific Region, has launched a new Tap on Phone solution in Fiji in partnership with Westpac Fiji, Mastercard and MYPINPAD. The PCI CPoC (Contactless Payments on COTS) certified solution, a first in Fiji, will greatly benefit the micro and small businesses there who have been among the hardest hit from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Part of a larger government-backed initiative by Mastercard, this partnership also brings together leading global entities – Westpac Fiji, leading Australian bank with a strong presence in Fiji, and MYPINPAD, a global innovator in mobile card payments systems. Together, they will pave the way for financial inclusion and digital literacy in the country.
Powered by MYPINPAD’s PCI-certified SoftPOS technology, the app will equip market stall vendors in Fiji, mostly informal businesses, with the ability to accept card payments from local consumers and international visitors directly on their commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) Android smartphones or tablets. Removing the need to invest in additional hardware also means that more merchants can be onboarded quickly and affordably, which in turn will help them increase revenue and rebuild their businesses.

As next steps, the collective team is now working on plans to launch DUAPAY in the wider Pacific region including New Zealand and Australia.”
